Alex
As 95% of the ROC membership aren't 'present', I'm sure the answer is 'no'. Horrible, those Cosmics, aren't they? |

I searched for ages on this website before I found an Olympic for sale, which I then bought. Unless the seller wishes, it seems strange that virtually all of the cars for sale in the magazine are not for sale to the outside world on this website. This site must be the first port of call to interested, and possible future club members.

I never noticed the headlamps! I don't think they look too bad. Note the vents under the rear window, might help with any misting up problems.

Yes Alex but different cars - one is a PhI and the other a PhII - but the same headlight treatment. Actually I think the cars looks really nice with the upright headlights. So who has this car been sold to then? |

Hi Al
I like the front headlamp treatment much better was it factory made or an owner mod are there any moulds etc. Also pet subject of yours Paul but I also have mk 1 cosmics on my ph 1 and I like them I understand the purists point of view entirely but everyone out there has something done differently on their cars either out of the factory or personalised. The cosmics being 13" make the car look sporty and slightly lower and much more attractive ( whatever the alloy wheel) than 14" steel skinnies.
Cheers

Hi Alexandre, thanks for your interest in the car, it originally started
life in Oldham Manchester and it had 2 previous owners. It blew the head
gasket in 1979, the head was removed and never re-fitted and it lay behind
a bungalow in Glossop until I bought it in 2005. I then stripped it down
only to find that it needed a new front sub frame which has not been
available until now as the club will be commissioning some shortly. As for
the headlights it’s a bit of a mystery there is some thought that it may
have been done at the factory as there is no obvious joints and it looks
very professional. The car had some interesting things on it found when I
stripped it down, there was a very comprehensive heat and ventilation
system and electric windows. This was most innovative for when it was
built in 1966. As for the wheels they were badly damaged and corroded and
of no use. I will sort you some more pictures out when I go to the barn
and you would be most welcome to come and see it if you are interested I
purchasing it.
Best wishes Mark |
