The Olympic 'bumpers' were unique to the car and made by a local foundry in Rochdale.

I managed to get hold of a few Club magazines and see that you were the resident artist!

I have the entire set from No1 until the present day, all bound in club binders. The early ones were pretty dire but over all, there's some very useful information in them. I believe most if not all are still available from the Spares Secretery.

The handbrake is definately MGA, not too difficult to get but a little expensive, we have refurbished them and re-chromed in the past.

Door hinges are A55 van rear door hinges. These can be re-furbished.

Reverse light is Standard Vanguard phase 2.

Door handles, thats a good one we have come across at least 3 different ones fitted to original Olympics. One thing that I can say is Mini are wrong, once modified they can be fitted but it takes some doing.

List of the original parts used in the Olympics

This post has not been used since 2009 and I think it is one of the most important posts members need.
So I have attached it to the top of the list. So come on please use it.

So I will restart it.

Locking and Non Locking Door Handles.

They fit Standard 8 and 10, Pennant and Companion, Vanguard IA and Vanguard II. Triumph Mayflower and Renown. Swallow Doretti, early TVRs (Vixens and Granturas).
early Nash Metropolitans. early Bristols and some early Aston Martins.
The handles are supplied as three cast fully finished parts comprising of handle, push button and “D” rest. You then fit your own lock, as appropriate and backing plate.

DOOR HANDLES -- Derek Bentley

The Standard 10 external door handles are fitted to a number of Club cars as original fitment.
To my knowledge they were used on the Olympic (both phases) the Mark 1 Turners and the Tornado Talisman.
Good quality ones are at a premium, but I understand that new ones have now been cast by
Ashwater Forge & Foundry, Unit J2, Dunkeswell Airfield, Honiton, Devon (Tel: 01297 300010)
They are cast in brass and chrome plated, but do not come with the lock barrel.
Their part numbers are 02/0805a (locking) 02/0806a (non-locking)
Cost is about £86 for a pair

Regards Tony

As stated before some phase one's use Rover P4 door handles. All door handles are re-furbishable (if this is a word) we can get most re chromed at a price.

You can use Rover P4 door handles, but the push button is different and the “D” piece is not separate.
As stated the "originals" are Standard 10

Regards

Tony

We have worked on about 60 Olympics over the years of which at least 1/2 were fitted with Rover handles, perhaps there was more than one standard.

Just to add to the debate, my car has Robin Reliant door handles, they were on when I bought it.

Just a simple thought, why is the Olympic Parts list here and not in the Olympic section? Was it all down to the original post? Can we move it Keith? Please.
