I can't see much point to them other than stiffening maybe ?

I think the indentations are the body pickup points for the anti-roll bar on Riley/Morris front suspension.

Dave I think you are going to have problems with that oil cooler set-up, it is going to collect a lot of dirt and crud which will reduce the air flow and efficiency, will take a lot of cleaning out and if you are cruising down the motorways at 70mph+ and a stone or sharp object strikes it your engine will seize through loss of oil before you realise it.

It was OK for 15,000 miles in the early years of the cars life, but I do take heed of Tony and will probably protect it.
I am doing a couple of grilles for the rad inlet and might have a look at one for the cooler.

Is this Ph2 going to be a competition car or a road car? If a road car, surely you're going to carpet and underfelt the insides? No? It must be bloody noisy in there.

I can't say I've ever heard of it but at classic and kitcar events in the UK, there are stands which sell offcuts of suitable carpets for cars, certainly enough to do one car. Too expensive I guess to post to France though.

How is the kitcar pastime in Europe? Do you have kitcar shows like Stoneleigh or my local one at Detling? Many years ago I was in the Army in what was then West Germany and I know that German regulations just about outlawed any car which wasn't standard. Banded steel wheels were all the rage in the UK at that time and these would never have been acceptable to the Germans. Anything non-standard had to be authorised. What are the French authorities like?
