I was looking through some old photographs recently and found these two pictures which were taken at one of our early AGM's which used to be held at the motor museum in Bridgenorth.
Some of the cars are Roger Coupe ph2, Roy Yates ph1, and my own ph1. _________________ Working to increase the profile of Rochdale Cars |

Hi Keith,
2 good photos there.
If you can please show them in a higher definition so that I can enlarge them more, I will list the Olympic,s out for the members.

There really isn't any need Tony, the cars shown were owned by from left to right, Roy Yates, Mick Wright, Henry Shedden, John West, Ken Helliwell, Syd Bartram, Keith Hamer, Roger Coupe, and Mark Dukes. I am sure you will recognise one of them. _________________ Working to increase the profile of Rochdale Cars |

Hi Keith,
I am disappointed that again that you do not wish to send or show me a higher definition copy of a photograph you have loaded on the internet. But I am sure I will recognise at least one of the Olympics.
The photographs are from the last AGM we had at Bridgenorth on the 5th April 1992. Olympics left to right.
1) Sorry Keith this is not Roy Yates, this is Andy Heaton with Ph1 -- MYG 393D. (currently in Germany)
2) Sorry again Keith, this is Malcolm McKay with Ph1 -- BHU 404A (formally 8338 PW currently UFF 354)
3) Henry Powell-Shedden with Ph11 -- HKX 303K.
4) Keith, I think I would recognise John West in "Duffy". But this is Alan Hinckley with Ph11 -- Q950 CPE. (formally CPK 245B)
5) Ken Helliwell with Ph1 -- 78 HWJ. (currently AFM 550A and in Australia)
6) Syd Bartram with Ph11 -- 966 SJH.
7) Keith Hamer with Ph1 -- WFV 812.
8 Roger Coupe with Ph11 -- SBH 75D.
9) Now Keith I do not at the moment recognise this Olympic. Derek and I do not have a Mark Dukes on the records. We do have a Simon Dukes, but he did not have an Olympic till 1998 and it was Maroon in colour.
So can you please help with anymore details ie- The registration number or any part of the number from the photograph.
9) Ian Mackinnon with Ph1 -- 104 WPK.
Regards,
Tony. _________________ Rochdale Olympic History Archive

Apologies for the mistakes, Mark Dukes was Simon's brother who did indeed have an Olympic, I think the blue one is this car TBF 966.
Malcolm bought Mick Wrights old car.
AFM 550A used to be 78 EWJ _________________ Working to increase the profile of Rochdale Cars |

Hi Keith,
I have found the blue car, it is 104 WPK.
Which Olympic did Mark Dukes own? We have no record of it.

We rebuilt both 104 WPK and TBF 966 which was the Mark Dukes car, incidentally Simons car also came through our workshop, from memory it was JOP something or something JOP, I think one of Stan Hanks cars. _________________ Working to increase the profile of Rochdale Cars |

Hi Keith,
Yes, Simon Dukes owned 829 JOP. You are correct one of Stan Hanks cars and currently in Germany.
I know you rebuilt 104 WPK for Robin Stretton and painted the car Green. Did Robin buy the Olympic from Mark Dukes? If so please what area did Mark live in so Derek and I can enter him in the Olympic records.
Regards,
Tony. _________________ Rochdale Olympic History Archive |

I have received the following message from Paul Narramore about 104 WPK.
"Tony, I rarely visit the ROC FB page, partly as I've forgotten my password, but there's a item on there about Ian McKinnon's Ph1, 104WPK, at the AGM that year. Ian never ever went to AGM's, it wasn't his cup-of-tea so I drove his car up there for the first time.
A dreadful car with a terrific draft coming from the dashboard. I discovered that somebody had sawn a great big oval hole in the bulkhead and had stuffed an old army blanket in there to try to reduce the rush of cold air and exhaust fumes.
The dreadful old heaps we used to drive in those days. Regards Paul Narramore
PS Pleased to see that it has since been restored." _________________ Rochdale Olympic History Archive |

I bought the ex Mark Dukes car which was 966 TBF not 104 WBK. I can't remember where we went to collect the car, however I bought 829 JOP from the same place so I assume they lived in the same area. _________________ Working to increase the profile of Rochdale Cars |

Hi Keith,
We have you as owning 829 JOP in 2003 and Simon lived in Cheshire.
We have you as buying TBF 966 in April 2003 from Paul Delderfield in Cornwall and on your way back home you brought TBF 966 on a trailer to the ROC AGM at Coventry.
Regards,
Tony. _________________ Rochdale Olympic History Archive |

The plot thickens, I didn't collect the Mark Dukes car until 2004, and at the same time was given the option to buy JOP if it came up for sale, I bought it some time later and collected it from the same house as TBF. From memory we turned off the M42 near Prodrive and went across country for a short distance to the house.
Although I was present at the 2003 AGM I didn't call en-route from Cornwall, perhaps it was Mark Dukes who collected the car from Paul Delderfield, perhaps Paul could confirm. _________________ Working to increase the profile of Rochdale Cars |
