Hi,
I'm now refurbing the Triumph front suspension components. I know I have to separate the lower wishbones and swap them side to side.

My question is, once I have fitted them to the subframe, do I join them back together again?

Barrie Jones has kindly replied to say his remain separate, but I think I saw on a race Olympic, the 'brace bar' had been re fitted.

Cheers

Gary

Gary, I don't know if there is a definitive answer to the brace bar

1) A close look here may help :- http://www.rochdale-owners-club.co.uk/partslist.htm

2) I would assemble the wishbones off the car and measure between the inner mounting bushes and then compare to the subframe dimension and the answer should be in front of you.

3) An old post with some discussion :- http://www.rochdale-owners-club.co.uk/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=77&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

It might be useful for future reference if you could post your measurements here as it is just possible there might have been some variance between subframes. I have an old P2 subframe I can check as well.

Regards, Dave

Thanks Dave,

I'll post some dimensions and photos as I go along.

As you say it should all become clear.

Cheers

Why not? Its how it was orginally designed, it would stiffen the wishbone and cost nothing.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for your reply, I couldn't see any reason why not to put it back after assembly.
