On my car, the side panel openings to the wheel arches have been blocked off with plywood, LH and RH sides of the engine bay.
I do not understand why this has been done.
I am unaware of any problems with excessive ventilation or rainwater ingress.
I can see no advantage in keeping these, only disadvantages: reduced ventilation and restriction of a useful access point for maintenance and improvements.
Is there any reason, that I can't see, for them being there?
