Was a tow bar ever an option with a new Olympic P2 ?

The square plates bolt to boot floor and the two other arms are bolted to outside of rear valence.

A few Olympics have been fitted with towbars, mainly for towing small boats, camping trailers and motorbikes. Some were fitted new by RMP and shown on the invoice,
but I have never seen them shown as a factory option.
Regards,
Tony.

I know this is a PI but a PII could be similar, but I have not seen one.
Note the T piece tube bonded in this was the £5 RMP factory fitting, not owners DIY.
The wood part I do not know if this was the factory or the owners fitting?

I think the towbar was originally fitted to tow this Buckler 90?

My old Olympic had a towbar fitted (OBN 392D) it did look like a factory option, I used to tow a small trailer with it. It was however a phase 1 as is the one pictured above. Not sure about the phase 2, I personally haven't seen one fitted but I have only worked on about a dozen phase 2's.

Tony I was going to reply but you have done it all for me, when I took the wood out I would say that it was added by an owner and not factory fitted
