Here are a few pictures of the rear hatch locking mechanism.
This has been fitted to my my car from first build by the look of things.
Could someone with more historical knowledge of Rochdales please confirm that
this was fitted from the factory.
If it is a proper part I maybe able to help to identify the original part that was modified to fit our cars.
I realise it may only important if you don't have one to complete your car but it might be worth including in the "List of parts"

I have seen this item on another phase 2 we are rebuilding so it looks like it may be an original item however I have been wrong before and this one is only the 7'th phase 2 we have restored.
It would be interesting to know where it came from. _________________ Working to increase the profile of Rochdale Cars |

Hi, Keith, I believe the original part used for the"Hatch Catch" was from the boot lid of the BMC /BL 1100 / 1300, ADO 16.
This was subsequently modified by Rochdale to fit the Olympic P2.
Below is a picture of the unmodified part.
This part I am led to believe had the part number (BL) of ADA 6251
The manufacturer of the part (Wilmot Breeden) stamped the part with the number WB 3/17071 and this number agrees on both parts. So it looks as though we have a match.
The original part was cut and shut to fit the Olympic.
I can provide dimensions if required to modify to fit
There are subtle differences between the base units but the date codes are about 4 years apart so that is understandable
Regards, Dave
