Derek Bentley and I think we have most of the published photographs lapelled as a Rochdale Car in the History Archive.
So now we look at any period photograph to see if there is a Rochdale Car in the background, this means sometimes the car is not identifiable.
Can you please help identify the owner of the car, the registration number, the colour, where the photograph was taken and the date, or any other information?
If you have a similar photograph please place on here or send to me at rochdaleolympic902@gmail.com and I will place the photograph on here.
I think I have cracked this one. I think the Rochdale is UUD 10, currently owned by John Jarrett.
I have spoken to the former owner Tim Boyce and he thinks the photo maybe Oulton Park race circuit some time in the late 1970s. _________________ Rochdale Olympic History Archive

This is an interesting photograph take from a Renault 4L brochure, but is that a Rochdale Olympic at the rear of the queue?
But what I need is a better photograph so I can expand the car at the rear for a closer look at it.

Hello Tony,
It certainly looks like one. Where did you find the photo?

Hi Howard,
I found the photo some years ago on the Internet.
It could be a Rochdale Olympic or maybe an early Porsche 911, a late 1950s Renault Alpine or a D B Panard.

Hello Tony,
Well France is certainly well represented in the queue so maybe one of the latter two, but then there's the Jaguar!?

This is a photograph found by Mike Peck and he has sent it to me.
It is of an Olympic Phase 11, you can see the rear hatch hinges.
Reflective number plate shows the photo is after 1968.
Why is the Olympic photographed at the side of a racetrack?
Does anyone know any more details about the car or where and
when the photo was taken? rochdaleolympic902@gmail.com

Some progress on this photograph above.
Mike Peck and I have decided the racetrack is Snetterton in Norfolk. By the type of racing cars it is a Jim Russell Driving School course.
As the Rochdale Olympic is parked on the circuit, did a Jim Russell instructor, mechanic or a marshal, own it?
With the help of Trevor Pyman the registration number is NDB 279G, do you recognise your old car Paul Narramore? _________________ Rochdale Olympic History Archive |
