Hi
I have put a few photos on photobucket with link attached hope that it works. I am now at the stage of rebuilding the shell into a rolling shell, complete with engine ,transmission, diff etc. At the moment I have just had the shell back from being painted inside everywhere, but I am going into hospital on Monday morning for a knee replacement so work will now come to a halt for a while. I will also put photos in the GT section on work that I have done on my GT whilst the Olympic has been away. The Olympic shell was nearly in half when all stripped out so it has had major rebuilding work to make it safe.

Copy this link into your browser and hopefully it will work, the photos are a little out of order, it is the first time making a special album so I shall know a little more next time.
I will add some more when the rebuild progresses again.
John

Just a small update to 81XPH, today I have had the engine running the first time in 25+ years. All went ok except when the engine was hot it blew the core plug out of the rear of the engine, that was easily fixed.
Otherwise ok the twin carbs are playing up, the pistons keep getting stuck in the chambers, the hotter the engine the worse they are. I have spent hours cleaning and polishing all parts, they were completely seized when I stripped them down. I wonder whether they are out of line or something I think that I will send them away to be checked.
So nice to hear it running after all the work that has gone into it so far.
Regards

Hi
Just a couple of photos taken at the NEC of 81XPH, finished enough for the show but a long way to get it on the road.
Regards

Just a couple of photos of 81 XPH at Bristol.
To my amazement I carried off the award for the Best Classic Sports or Convertable in the show.
I must say I was well chuffed.

And well-deserved John with all the hard work and time you have put in to the car.

Thank you.
Hopefully there will be some press coverage as well, which will also help the Rochdale cause.

Hi all
81 XPH has now been re-born to 499 YUT with the help of Anna and Derek.
I took all the required documents to Worcester today and never realised that it would be that easy, in and out in five minutes.
I must pay thanks to Anna of the Fairthorpe Sports Car Club for her help with the dating Certificate and also to Derek for all his part as well putting me on the right track. Thank you both.
We now have another Olympic on the road.
A happy, very happy

Hi all
Couple of photos from Burford, first time that I have been there. Good day out especially as I walked away with the trophy for best car in the show.
