We are racing our Olympic in the HRDC series, starting in April, but a chance offer to compete, by invitation, in the Master's Gentleman Drivers Series at Oulton Park yesterday came about.
We used the opportunity as a test really and fortunately discovered a brake bias issue, the fact that we are still over geared (never used 4th) and during the race that a rear damper adjustment is required. Apart from this the car was well balanced and will still improve once these issues are sorted.
Despite these issues, the car ran faultlessly for the 30 minutes qualifying and 75 minutes race. We finished 6th overall and won the class, albeit in a fairly depleted field.
It does however give us confidence that it will be competitive in the HRDC where it will be more suited and should be at the sharp end of the field.
Lots of interest in the car and so many people who "used to own a Rochdale", "new of someone who did", or "always wanted one".
No doubt photographs will appear in the usual social sites for photo sharing.

Mike, I can't believe we missed you, we had one of our spies at the test day on friday, but I was too busy preparing the lightweight to show next weekend at Manchester to come over, and we are less than 15 minutes away from Oulton Park. |

Hi Tony,
The Oulton Park outing was very much a last minute thing.
Here is a link to the HRDC calendar in which we compete in the GTG category.....

Nice acknowledgement of the Rochdale Olympic by Marcus Pye in this week's Autosport.
We will be at Castle Combe this Monday and the Rochdale will be there on display but not racing unfortunately. After the press day for the HRDC at Silverstone, a top end rattle turned out to be a piston failure of the small end. Very unusual as we've never experienced this before in a multitude of 'A' Series race engines we've built. New block and pistons required but will be out for the next round.
We are running a Sebring Sprite replica we built, now owned and driven by my friend Paul Tarry, so if anyone is there please come and say hello.
