I had a naive thought today; to fit the new rear window that's been sitting in the loft for two years. Out came the old and I laid it on the new to check for size. Horror of horrors, the new one is approximately 3" larger all round !

No real problem as I have the old one as a template, but the question is, what's the best technique for cutting ? I'm conscious that it's a '**** or bust' situation. Any recommendations please ?

Regards,

Howard

The club windows were purposely made bigger as the openings in the Olympic do varey from car to car, the theory was to allow the owner to taylor the window to there own needs.

I have found the best way to cut them is with a bandsaw, as the blade only travels in one direction and the window is supported during the cutting process. It is possible to cut them with a jig saw but great care is required and a very fine blade used at low cutting speed.

We also cut the window very slightly too big and fettle the finished item with a sanding disc to get the best fit.
