Hi all
Just a few photos of my progress so far after bringing the car back from France.
The first one, is, as it was before going to France in 2009
The next few are different shots taken at different angles.
This next one is the pile of bits that I am left with.
The subframe:- as it has been in the car for nearly 50 years the bottom, except for the corners was just as though it was bonded in yesterday. It has now gone away to be rebuilt.
One problem that I am left with at the moment is the doors, the bolts are nearly impossibe to get out. They are so rusted , no corners, to put a socket on, is it easier to cut the hinges in half ?. So you get get at the bolts to deal with them. If I cannot get hinges they could always be welded up again.
I just wondered what other peoples thought were.
Will keep photos posted as it progresses, hope you all like them

No Alexandre I live in England and came over to France to pick ut up. I bought it from the photos and from Steve's description from Sportetclassique. I did a bit of dealing with Sportetclassisque to pick it up, I took over a car for them so it worked out quite well

Hi all
Just a few phots of the enginge whilst the the shell is having a few repairs done.
The engine was in a bit of a state when I started it, as you will see there were several items completetly seized. The distibutor I had to smash out of the block, but anyway it is all in pieces now.
Surprisingly it is all cleaning up very well, all bearings, mains and bigends are still standard also the pistons are standars as well,
I have rehoned the bores which now look good and I am awaiting parts to arrive to rebuild the bottom end. The head will be sent away to have guides, seats and valves fitted suitable for unleaded petrol, and I shall also possibly have the ports polished etc.
I will post a few more photos at the next stage. |

I do hope that you haven't cut the hinges yet, they are from an A55 van and as such are almost impossible to replace.
The method we use to get the hinges off the car when the through bolts won't come out is to cut a slot in the body level with the top and bottom of the hinge box using a 1mm slitting disc in an angle grinder. This slot will cut the top and bottom of the top hat through bolt, you can the remove the hinge on the door, the repairs to the body slots is easy and will fit in with the main body preperation. |

Keith
They were removed a long while age I am afraid, two of them where very corroded and very thin.
I have now fitted new hinges from the club, I have put in rose joints with a bonded in stainless steel plate at the back of the hinge box and they work very well.
I will load up some photos when I get chance
