Hi all, been a bit quiet of late. We have not however been idle, currently we have no less than 6 Olympics undergoing restoration at the moment.

First off is a phase one about to be delivered to its new owner, this is a farely basic phase one but with a few subtle changes, the engine has been converted to a Rover 1400cc twin cam 'K' series producing a healthy 98BHP in standard form, making for a very usable car. This is attatched to a Ford Mk 9, 5 speed gearbox. The car has discs front and rear which are hidden by a nice set of 14" Minator wheels.

One of the other cars is a Phase one which is going to be running a Rover 'K' series 1800cc VHPD and Ford Mk 9, 5 speed. Due to the engine power we have re-designed the suspension extensively, the car is now running indipendent rear suspension, disc brakes all round and a limited slip diff. This car has (due to customer requirements) had a lot of modification to the bodywork, and under bonnet area.

My ex Anstice brown lightweight is coming on slowly, most of the suspension components are finished in satin black powder coat and have been fitted with new bushes and bearings. We now have a Ford 1500 pre crossflow engine and gearbox for the car. The body is undergoing some restoration before having its final paint finish applied. The biggest problem is designing and fitting a suitable roll cage, this car has particular problems, being a lightweight car the glassfibre is all but transparent, it is very thin in places, we will have to spread the loads over as big an area as possible, difficult but not insurmountable.

We have recently passed on the wire wheeled phase one CWU to one of our customers Dave Myres from Wrexham, he is about to take the car away for a straight forward rebuild prior to the car returning to us for painting.

Jason is getting on well with his restoration of PAX 44, we have all the suspension off the car and it is currently being blasted and powder coated in our standard satin black. The body has been returned to standard rear arch patern and all the holes, cracks and damage which has been done over the past 40 years have been repaired. The engine is going to be 1275cc 'A' series which is what was fitted by the original builder, Jason however will be building his own engine and we expect to realise about 80BHP at the wheels.

My other car WFV 812 has been off the road now for about 8 years awating a re furb, unfortunately customer requirements and preasure of work have meant little progress has been done recently. If we can get some of the backlog out this year who knows I may get a chance to drive it again.
