Well, I went to my first ROC's AGM yesterday. The sun shone, the members were friendly and a good day was had by all, I think. About six Olympics turned up, but of course I didn't take any photos of all the cars together , just of specific bits as a reference for my rebuild- no two cars were the same!

The newly commissioned Ph 2 front subframe was on display, and my name is down for one of the first batch. I bought a pedal box and pedals from Keith ?, along with a few other parts, so hopefully I will have fantastic brakes, in fact any sort of brakes will do !!

I met the newly elected Secretary of the Club- nice to see you James Farrington, and a host of others , all I have to do is to try and remember their names!

Only SIX Olympics turned up? Crikey, I'm really glad I went to Belgium instead. It sounds like things are in the doldrums. A dozen or so used to go.

So can anyone answer my earlier question? Why do just a handful of over 100 members use this forum? Was the question asked at the AGM? What are the problems with the forum?

Paul, I think that the majority of people who attended the AGM are not computer users or are not "Forum Types".
It's a great shame that this means of rapid communication is not the preffered option, it has the potential of providing answers to questions / problems in a very short time.
The magazine is a fantastic product from a club with so few members and both the forum and the magazine may benefit from an interchange if information ie items from here included in the magazine and vice versa.
We can't force members to use the forum but some gentle persuasion might not come amiss.
Aubrey (Webmaster) has promised a For sale/ Wanted section on here and suggested that he is now in a position to be more active in the activities on here, this can only be good.
Rod, I am sorry to have missed you at the meeting, perhaps an idea for next year might be for all the people there to individually identify themselves at the start of the meeting?
Regards
Dave

Dave- likewise sorry to have missed you! If I had known you were there I would have sought you out. I was the old, short, balding guy with the maroon shirt, sitting on the right and I asked Aubrey about putting the magazine adverts on the website as well!

Catch you next time!

Rod

I am sure that at the first AGM I went to, we were given a sticky label to write our name and car reg no on for identification. Perhaps that should happen next year.

Paul G - the secretary I believe has changed so you should hear something now that the new one is in place after the AGM.
Following on from this, does anyone know his contact details as I need to pay my subs?

Paul

Keith Hamer seems to be the man to phone- I think they are nearly all accounted for!

They are cold drawn steel, I believe, with any open ends sealed, and then powder-coated.

Alex - The ends of the tubes have been closed, not left open for water to enter.
